Portrait of Edward Leszczyński, 1911

A plaster sculpture, coated with a dark bronze patina, depicting Edward Leszczyński. It is 70 cm tall, 47 cm wide and 31 cm deep.

Edward Władysław Leszczyński, of the Sas coat of arms, was born on 5 June 1880 in Przemyśl, and died on 26 September 1921 in Cracow. He was a poet and literary critic. He married Eliza Pareńska, the daughter of Prof. Med. Stanisław Pareński. Leszczyński was the brother-in-law of Tadeusz Boy-Żeleński.

He studied philosophy at the Jagiellonian University, obtaining a doctorate on 20 July 1905. He co-founded the Green Balloon cabaret. He died of throat cancer and was buried in the Rakowicki Cemetery in the Pareńscy family tomb.

The bronze cast of the figure is in the collection of the National Museum in Wrocław.
